Ceramics Course

🌿 One Course. Two Techniques. Endless Possibilities.

Curious about what you can create with clay—both on the pottery wheel and by hand?
In this versatile 7-week ceramics course, you’ll learn the basic techniques of both hand-building and wheel-throwing.
Perfect for anyone looking to build a solid foundation in ceramics while enjoying the freedom to develop their own creative work.

In a small group and relaxed atmosphere, you’ll receive personal guidance as you work with different shapes, textures, and glazes. Whether it’s your first time touching clay or you’re returning to the studio—you are welcome!

🎓 By the end of the course, you’ll be able to continue working independently in our ceramic studio. You’ll have the knowledge and skills to create, glaze, and prepare your own pieces for firing.

What Will You Learn?

🖐️ Hand-building
You’ll start by shaping clay with your hands. You’ll learn techniques like pinching, coiling, and working with slabs of clay. You’ll build bowls, pots, and decorative objects, adding texture and simple surface decoration like carving or relief.

🌀 Throwing on the Wheel
Starting in week 4, you’ll shift your focus to the pottery wheel. You’ll learn how to center the clay, pull it up, and shape basic forms like cups, bowls, and cylinders. All at your own pace, with guidance along the way.

🎨 Finishing & Glazing
In the final sessions, you’ll finish your pieces and learn about glazing, color application, and the firing process. After the course, your work will be professionally fired in our kiln, ready to be admired or used.
