Ceramics Workspace
Who Is It For?
The Ceramics Open Studio is intended for experienced ceramicists and for students who have completed the Beginners’ Course in Hand-building and/or Wheel Throwing and are able to work independently in the studio.
I (Yvonne) am available during studio hours to answer questions about the workspace and provide quick technical support. For more in-depth learning, I offer separate workshops and courses.
Open studio sessions are available to both hand-builders and wheel throwers.
Important Requirements
Participants should be able to:
Wedge clay, center (reasonably well), pull, and shape on the wheel.
Work safely—both for yourself and for the studio environment.

How Does It Work?
Independent Work with Guidance
Find a spot at the large handbuilding table or take a seat at a wheel. After a brief introduction to the studio, you're free to get started. You work at your own level, and I’m there to support and guide you as needed.
Firing & Glazing
I fire at 1180 – 1220°C. A wide range of engobes, underglazes, and brush-on glazes are available for you to use.
Cleaning Up
After your session, please make sure to leave your workspace, tools, and the floor clean and tidy.
Firing and Glazing
Firing is done at 1180°C – 1220°C. You’re welcome to use my studio brush-on glazes.
Cleaning Up
At the end of each session, please make sure your work area, floor, and tools are cleaned and left tidy for the next maker.
